0 [Band-in-a-Box] Re: Is there a good-sounding software alternative to a sound card?

 

Just to finish of this thread if I may. Finally found the time to put the new Acer with the Realtek chip to use connected to some Altec Lansing speakers. For general use playing podcasts and the usual multimedia stuff the Realtek covers the requirements well. But for sequencer use it is really not up to the task. In my opinion this
particular chip has come a long way but does not measure up to a dedicated sound card. not yet anyway. So it looks like an external quality card will have to be bought. Thanks for all the help and info guys. Ian
