I've been putting this off so I'm glad you emailed. The second verse is so much harder for actions since the words don't coordinate with obvious actions. I decided to use some sign language. I'll paste it below. You will have to go over it a few times so it's 2nd nature. I like to asks the kids why that would be the sign for that word and they usually get the association. They really do remember it with actions better. My only fear is them clapping and moving for the program. J Oh well that might be fun~!
Have fun! I told the kids that I wouldn't do such fun lively actions for a more reverent song about the Savior, but I think Joseph Smith would love them to have fun and be playful while singing about him.

Crystal:
I used your ideas for movement with PPTM yesterday - and it was a hit! Our Primary Jr's & Sr's meet together, and it kept all age groups involved. I am looking forward to the 3rd verse ideas, too. If I come up with any ideas, I will definitely share them.
Thanks again! Terri (in California)

Subject: [primusic] Praise to the man without visuals - actions
I'm a dance teacher so I have a hard time not doing actions to help the kids remember. We drop the actions as the kids learn it.
This is what I'm doing for Praise to the Man- I've just taught the 1st verse and chorus- Sometime we come up with actions while I'm teaching. I might have something in mind, but as I teach I ask what the kids think we should do to remember and they often come up with the same thing I thought or something better. Then they feel proud that they were a part of it…
Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah! Hands clasped together and above shoulder like cheering, then hand like talking by mouth, point up
Jesus annointed that Prophet and Seer. A sign language for anointed- Hand above eyebrows look one way for Prophet then the other for seer
Blessed to open the last dispensation, Hands open like a book. For dispensation we take one hand flat and tap the syllibals with other fist dis-pen-sa-tion
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere. Hands above head like a crown, praise again for extol, arms go out for nations, fold arms for revere
Chorus:
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven! Clap quietly with beat, rise hands up as clapping for ascended…
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain. One fist up , other fist up, 2 punches (kids love this) then make X with arms still fisted
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren; Hands up palms facing each other and intertwine fingers, Plan- one hand like paper other like pen
Death cannot conquer the hero again. Shake head, then stand like a hero with fists on hips- legs apart- stand tall J
Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true, he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.
