Used this plan today, and it was AWESOME for Sr. Primary. Last week I had shown the video and "decoded" the difficult words in Jr. & Sr. (I made a vocabulary matching handout where they drew lines from the words to the definitions, which were out of order, as I explained them). This week I made an MP3 of the song with just the 1st and 3rd verses. I played the first verse over and over several times while the Sr. kids got the words in order - all the kids were engaged, even the oldest boys (!) and loved it! By the end of singing time, they could all sing the first verse by heart. Next week we will learn the third verse.
This did not go over so well in Jr. since these kids either can't read yet or are early readers. The teachers were trying to do it, but then couldn't keep the kids' attention and so the kids were restless. I think I will need to rely on pictures and repetition for J.P.
Thanks, Camille, for an excellent activity!
