I love all of these ideas. Especially scooping the cotton balls with a spoon while the primary sings. I'll definitely be using that one! Thanks for sharing!

They assured me they were big enough to handle this, plus it saved time so I didn't have to wait forever in between songs. The kids thoroughly enjoyed this and it was a very enjoyable singing time for me too. Plus, we got through pretty much all the program songs.

So, I have a robot girl - girls only; robot boy - boys only; police car - sing it fast; frog - sing it staccatto; bunny - sing softly; lion - sing loud; giraffe - stand up straight and tall (sometimes I let them stand on the chairs for this one); rocket ship - start song crouching down and singing soft, each phrase you stand up a little more and sing louder until you are standing straight and singing LOUD; owl - "ooooh" the song; hummingbird - hum the song, facing backwards if you want; elephant - plug your nose and sing; octopus - wave your arms like an octopus and sing. I think there are a couple more, but can't think of them right now. It's fun, easy and the kids enjoy it. Sometimes I just use this with the opening song just to get them a little more interested in singing with me.

The game is to time them to see how many cottonballs they can get in the bowl before the timer runs out. I figured you could change this for Primary. You could have one kid do it up front while everyone sings the song. Or divide the room in half, have one kid for each side of the room come up and play it while you sing. Then repeat the game and sing the song again. An easy way to sing a song over and over!
