Ulf, I find the bass sounds to be just where I hear them when I play
with real bass players, so I don't understand your problem. Perhaps
the traditional klezmer styles are simply not what you are used to
hearing. The bass is certainly a very active player in a traditional
ensemble and too low a pitch would not enable the bass to be heard as
it needs to be.
