I am going to tell the pioneer story of the miracle of the seagulls and the crickets. Then I printed out a large clipart of a seagull and put it on a dowel with a magnet on his front beak. I printed out some crickets that have metal paper clips attached (so they can be "picked up" and then spit out by the seagull as they were in the story.) Each cricket has a question about the story I just told or about a pioneer song that will be answered when we sing the song together. Both old and young kids seem to LOVE these fishing type games, and I love this story-so it should be fun. There is also this memory game I've attached that would work with this story.

Does anyone have a good pioneer day themed singing time? I haven't found anything that I think will work well for my LARGE primary. Thanks for sharing!
