So I tried a different approach. I still use the VSC, I still love the sounds. I think I'm just used to them. But what I do is save to MIDI file and then render each MIDI track to audio. From there I deal with all audio tracks and I get a much better, fuller sound. I've taken the line-out and went line-in on the VSC and recorded right to audio and it sounds a lot bigger and better to me. More steps I know, but before softsynths we recorded all synths analog and they were great. I also tried the Coyote DXi and did not like it. A lot of people said it was better, I like the VSC much better.

Wayne,

Thanks. I currently move most of my songs to DAW and mix down with sound fonts. I was looking for a better sound in BIAB. Some of the stuff I do is "quick, down and dirty". I just wanted to get a better instrument sound using BIAB. VSC works pretty good. I've not found anything that works better so far. I was hoping someone knew of a VSTi that included multiple instruments.

I also dump to DAW some of the times just so I can clean up the terrible endings BIAB does with some of the styles. Here lately, I've been using more RealTracks styles, but mix in MIDI for some of the melody and solo tracks. I just want something that sounds more real than VSC, even if is costs a little money. I just want to produce the best I can without going to studio musicians.

I would also like to say what a conversation piece this has started. I've enjoyed reading what others are using. This at least gives me some other tools to "google". Boy, wouldn't it be great to have a users' conference just to mingle and learn?

Rick
