Oh, and when I used the slinky with Sr. Primary, we had the kids try sitting, standing, or reaching for the stars depending on how wide the slinky was open (closed=sitting, half way open= standing, all the way open= reaching for the stars while standing). As long as the child who held the slinky didn't open and close it too fast, it was a lot of fun to do it this way. You could always manipulate the slinky and avoid that problem though.
