Hello. This is the powerpoint I am going to use on Sunday.
I am going to use the opening that was posted by Kerstin Jones, which is why the powerpoint starts with pictures of three different temples.
I am going to use a combination of different things between junior and senior primary.
Senior primary: I will print these questions and give them to each child to answer as their own as I sing the song over and over again. These questions are from A Children's Songbook Companion. I plan to do one verse, one week at a time.
The Lord Gave Me a Temple (verse one)
WHAT is another name for my body?
HOW will I keep my spirit?
WHAT will I make my temple become?
WHERE was I a spirit?
WHEN did I leave my home?
WHO gave me this temple to live within on earth?
The Lord Gave Me a Temple (verse two)
WHAT may I claim if I keep my body clean and pure and habit-free?
Where may I claim blessing promised me?
When will I take my body bring?
Where will I live forever when I receive my celestial glory?
For junior primary I am going to have them color the attached coloring page (from LDS.org), maybe when we learn the second verse during week two? During week one, verse one, I am probably going to have them watch me flip through the slides as I sing the first verse over and over. I might ask them a question or two as well to engage the older junior primary kids.
I also liked this post from a few years ago that uses gloves and actions. I have a bunch of medical latex-free gloves I am going to use. I drew a stick figure on each one to help the kids visual the glove representing our body:
Basic idea: YOUR HAND IS THE "SPIRIT", THE GLOVE IS THE BODY
We then learned line by line with the following hand actions:
