I have plastic eggs that i filled with (what else) wheat and taped shut. We use them for Do as I'm Doing. They like that although the younger ones try to chew the tape off. I printed suns on one side of card stock and smile/frown faces on the other and cut those out and had to laminate them because of the chewing. We sing Smiles while they turn the paper faces up and down, then turn them over and raise the sun for In the Leafy Tree Tops, then put the suns in their laps and sing Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam, flicking our fingers for 'beam'. Then i take those back and we do some action songs like Book of Mormon Stories, We will Find a little Nest (it's in the song book, i promise) snow man or popcorn popping, then when they have started to wander off (although they are getting better) i pull out some jingle bracelets (they only get one if they are sitting down) and we do if You're happy and you know it. Then we just shake the jingles and sing I am a Child of God. I've heard of people bringing in the visuals they are using to teach the monthly song so the nursery kids at least get to hear that song but i always forget. Kami in WA |
