0 Re: [Band-in-a-Box] Re: VSTi vs DXi vs Roland VSC

Komplete includes a great 'instrument' called Kontakt, which is a multitimbral soft sampler, i.e., one instance can play up to 64 different patches on 4 midi ports of 16 channels each (if you have the right sequencer that accepts multiports.)

I don't want to be a 'wet blanket,' but I believe trying to use anything other than a simple VSTI or DXi like VSC or CoyoteWT in BIAB is a waste of time. This is due to restrictions in using any samples that don't conform to a General Midi format.

My advice for 'better to best' sounds in BIAB.

For live use get a good sound module that is GM compatible like the Ketron or Roland/ Korg/ Yamaha.

For production, i.e., taking an arrangement generated in BIAB and exported as a midi file and then opened in a DAW, soft synths ... like Garritan, Kontakt, etc., become really valuable.

For 'composing/ arranging' in BIAB, just use the VSC or Coyote WT.
