I have a presidency member that says when she was growing up the she learned Latter-day Prophets with signs for each prophet but can't remember all the signs. Did anyone else do signs? I never did learn this song in primary....first time for everything!
This is what I have so far.
Joseph Smith #1 with right hand
Brigham Young #2 with right hand
John Taylor #3 with right hand
Wilford Woodruff sign language "w" right hand then left hand for eah work
Lorenzo Snow, hands showing snow coming down
Joseph F. Smith Rh pointing to temple on head (don't forget)
Heber J. Grant circles with hands over eyes for glasses
(possibly switching with George Albert Smith, because he has a longer beard in pictures)
George Albert Smith RH pulling down from chin for beard
David O. McKay to hands to make "O" when saying O.
This is where she can't remember....(my thoughts are in parenthesis)
Joseph Fielding Smith, she thought he played the piano....can't find any info. but she thought it was playing the keys up the keyboard and back with both hands
Harold B. Lee (I could do the sign language for "L")
Spencer W. Kimball (pointing to throat, since he had throat surgery)
Ezra Taft Benson, (no idea)
Howard W. Hunter (possibly pretend to hold a gun/hunter....I'm iffy on this one)
Gordon B. Hinckley (fluttering arms at my sides, as a bee for the 9 b's)
Thomas s. Monson (he is always talking about service, so having your hand out like holding a tray being a server)
Tell me what you think!....These are some crazy ideas but I can't seem to come up with much. When walking this morning my 11 year old she helped me with Lee, Hunter and Hinckley...
Any ideas would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
I want to finish teaching this song this Sunday.
I also have the pictures for each prophet from the distribution center and I'm hanging them on a string across the room with a clip on each picture and we will be taking down the pictures as we sing it over and over with the signs.
I want them to be able to recognize them along with the signs and stories of the prophets. Thank you to all who helped with suggestions in teaching/sharing this song.
