Do you use www.Pinterest.com? I would go on there and search animal costumes, there are some really cute, simple ones that people are creating on their blogs that don't require sewing that are more crafty. I made some pig ears for my daughter out of felt with wire to make them stand up and attached to a headband and pinned a felt tail with wire to her. Super cute, I love the idea someone suggested of face paint. You could ask the parent to send their child in a specific color of shirt pig-pink, cow-white use marker to make black cow spots, etc. I think I saw some things at Michael's a while back. This type of thing should be easy to find right now with Halloween around the corner...
