Today in the grocery store I heard a child's voice singing over the din of shoppers and piped-in musak. I immediately recognized the tune: "Praise to the Man." I looked around the produce section and spotted her, sitting happily in the seat of the cart while her mother examined the lemons. She couldn't have been more than 5, probably 4. She was dancing in her seat as she sang "Praise to the man, la la la!" She continued on, singing la la's and with a smattering of words here and there. I smiled to myself and wished I had know who the primary chorister was who had taught this little one so well this month, so that I could tell her that it's working. Whatever she is doing in primary is working to sink this song into the hearts of her children. Even though they may not be singing on Sunday, even though they look up at you with blank little faces, it is sinking in! I know it is! I saw it in the face of this precious little girl at the grocery store. Good job choristers.
