Coming from the wife of a Deaf Guy and in a Deaf Branch, there is no need to try and learn the sign backwards so the kids can mirror you. if you are right handed then use your right hand, the kids will do the same.
Dont make this any harder for yourself.

I don't know sign language but I've been using the church's page for learning (http://www.lds.org/cm/display/0,17631,7231-1,00.html). My question is: Do you learn it backwards so the kids will learn it the right way? Or just teach them to do the opposite of me?
