I got a great idea from one of the primary blogs I've found http://camillesprimaryideas.blogspot.com/2010/07/singing-time-in-nursery.html I do the same songs with them each week. It may sound boring, but kids that age need repetition. They seem to have the routine down now and are familiar with taking the props out of the bag and putting them back after the song is over. I might add a song or two soon--maybe In the Leafy Treetops, but for now this is working great.
Here are the songs I sing with them:
Here We Are Together (I'll sing it twice to get all the kids in, if necessary). I'll touch their head when their name is to be sung.
Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam. I've made laminated sunbeams on a popsicle stick. Each kid takes one when passed around before we sing the song and they know to put it bag in the bag afterwards.
Once There Was a Snowman (with motions) and then we do Once I Was a Baby (at bottom of page).
Do As I'm doing (I want to get little braclettes with jingles on them for them to put on, but haven't found jingles anywhere!).
Follow The Prophet (Chorus Only) usually sung twice. I pass out a laminated picture of President Monson with a popsicle stick attached. We march around in a circle singing, then go the other way singing it one more time.
I Hope They Call Me On a Mission. They have little missionary tags they wear while singing.
Popcorn Popping with actions
Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes
(Sometimes) The Itsy-Bitsy Spider with actions
Book of Mormon Stories with actions
I Am a Child of God -- I always close with this one and sometimes sing more than one verse.
I really think this is a great idea to do the same songs each week.

I have posted the cards in the files under "Nursery Time Singing Cards." This way you don't have to ever worry about singing time in Nursery as long as you have your little bag of songs. There are about 24 in the files, so we never sing the same songs every Sunday. Let me know if you can't find them, and I can directly send them to you : )

So 20 minutes in Jr Prim, run to Sr. Nurs. for 10-15 minutes, run back to Sr. Prim for 20 minutes, run to Jr. Prim for 10-15 minutes, run back to Sr. Prim for closing exercises! That's 2-4 different music lessons each week! Is anyone else doing this and how do you do it?? I've never done a nursery music time and have no idea how they should go. Does anyone have an outline of how they use the time for the small kids? I know there should be wiggle songs and then some songs about their lesson??
