Here are a few things I have done:
Twinkle Twinkle little star, I am like a star:
I cut stars out of yellow fun foam and stuck them on skinny dowels for the kids to wave around when singing Twinkle Twinkle little star. These are by far the favorite.
I am a child of God: I glued circles to the large popcicles sticks and then glued a mirror on the circle for them to look into while singing. I love watching them sing while looking at themselves. They are so stinkin funny!
I made suns with the center cut out big enough for them to put their faces through the center while we sing Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
I made spiders out of pipe cleaners doe itsy bitsy spider. They love to have them crawl up their arms while singing.
We have a bag of musical instruments we trade off using with the above items. I made shakers out of TP rolls and covered them in paper, jingle bells on a ribbon for them to shake while singing, ribbons tied to the end of a skinny dowel so they can wave them around.
I also have songs written on popcicle sticks and let each of them choose a song.
The kids love using these and look forward to them every week. I love some of the ideas here and will be making new things!!! Thanks!
