BiaB is a real time sink and the greatest thing since sliced bread.
BiaB is a great accompaniment program, an inadequate notation program, and
has a swiss army knife of extra abilities. For accompaniment everything
depends on styles.
If the RealTrack styles match what you want, they sound great and are easy
to use but are impossible to modify. Midi based styles are easy to modify,
but you have to have a good procedure in place for going from midi to sound
for them to sound good. If you need to write your own midi styles, there is
a significant learning curve.
If you find BiaB useful in what you do, you should plan on upgrading once a
year during their December special.
