Last year I found glowsticks at Michael's for cheap. They were in packs of 15 for $1. I have a large primary, so this was a great deal for me to get enough for each child. I had the teachers hand them out just as we started singing time and helped them break their sticks to get them to glow. I then taught them how to lead music using 2/4, 3/4, & 4/4 time and they used their glowsticks to follow me. I chose different songs they knew with each timing. Then once they learned it well, they "earned" lights off time, in which they led the song with the lights off and the glow sticks looked so cool! They loved this!
