I'm currently using an adaptation of this idea with the missionary theme. We put up flags of various countries around the room, call our paper doll missionaries on missions to those countries -- one at a time -- have them board a toy plane, and then we must fill it with fuel by singing our program song well enough. I hold a large cardstock fuel gauge while they're singing and raise the needle from empty to full in accordance to how well they sing. If they don't get it all the way up, we review the song and try again. Then I let a child who has been singing well fly the plane to the country (flag) and we stick the missionary on it. We've done three songs each week, and have one more week to go. It's been working well.
