----- Original Message -----From: ajperky7Sent: Saturday, September 24, 2011 5:07 PMSubject: [primusic] "Safe on the Sea" Program Song ReviewI was inspired by the October 2011 Friend article by Pres. Monson, "Safe on the Sea".
I made a sailboat, with a sail that can be lowered and raised. I made it with a white sheet, my magnetic fishing pole dowels, cardboard, and a blue plastic drink bin from Target. I turned the bin over (the curved edges rock, like waves). Then I hot glued a magnet at the top of one dowel, and sewed the triangle cut sheet so the dowels would slide in the short end of the triangle. Then I hot glued the bottom of the sail to the bottom of the blue bin. I used cardboard for the bottom of the boat, and glued it on the sides, so it looks like a boat floating on water.
The sail will be raised to the top as the kids sing their best. I will have the titles of all the program songs on different boat item images...a map=I Will Follow God's Plan, Life Jacket=The Lord Gave Me a Temple, Oar=I Love to See the Temple, Anchor=If I Listen With My Heart, Flag=Stand For the Right, Sail=Praise To the Man, Compass=Book of Mormon Stories, Boat=Faith, Rope=I Hope They Call Me on a Mission.
I think the kids will have fun singing loud to get the sail raised=)
