0 Re: [Band-in-a-Box] Re: REQ: Angel Eyes

Hi Grah,

I'll not a member but will check out the trombone forum.

I messed around a little bit with the harmony section in BIAB a couple
of years ago but only a little and my results weren't too good.
However, at this writing I don't remember any specifics so I'll take
another look at it within a couple of days.

I do have Sibelius and often use it to enter a duet etc. and then export
that as a midi to BIAB and/or RB. Since I don't "play by ear" I find
that is a great way to type in something from another music book to play
along with.

Of course, I think BIAB/RB has a rather nice but limited notation
program - my biggest complaint there is that the printout is not very
good for my purposes and that the notation changes according to whether
or not the music is in "straight" or "swing" style. Plus writing
separate parts for a tbone duet (or larger ensemble) is rather messy.
However, I really like the way you enter notes in BIAB and think it's a
rather amazing notation program to be included as part of an
"accompaniment" program.

Anyway, I don't really take advantage of BIAB, etc. - sure wish they
would have had something like that when I was a kid and not quite so lazy!

It's probably not too relevant to this user group but I do have quite a
bit of trombone trio/quartet type of stuff in RB and Sibelius format
that you might be interested.

Since the user group strips attachments if you'd care to email me
separately I could give you an idea of what I have and probably attach
anything of interest to an email.

....... Larry

P.S. know what you mean about the younger guys - I play in a community
band that uses the facilities of a nearby small university - the band
always has a few (usually non music major) kids in the band and most of
them are very accomplished. I also catch a lot of school events and
know many of the kids today take advantage of BIAB, Smart Music,
Sibelius, etc. - lot of young talent out there!
