Thank you, Bosse. I play in a band that plays a lot of old Scandinavian tunes (Livet I Finnskogarna, etc.), and so any information you can offer would greatly appreciated.
Personally, I also like the Finnish polkas very much. So many of them are in minor keys, and are lively and melancholy at the same time.
But where I live, nothing makes the old folks' faces light up like a schottische or a reinlander. I can tell that they must have been very popular when they were young people.
